Nico puts the finishing touches  to a large stoneware wine storage jar about 1m high and using about 50 – 60kgs of clay -

Nico unpacked the big gas kiln this morning, and was very relieved to find that, apart from one cracked bowl and a little bit of oxidation in places, the firing was very successful.  Here’s what it all looked like -

Meanwhile, I spent a lot of the weekend trimming these “canisters” -

The final pack for the big gas kiln – Nico’s pots.  This is now fired and will be opened over the weekend or Monday.

Some kitchen green waste containers by me- essentially big terracotta bins – where you can temporarily keep all the organic waste you are going to throw on your compost heap -
