Temporarily inconvenienced by the silly concerns of the municipal fire inspectors about a suburban conflagration caused by kiln gas bottles, Christo Giles chose to fire his pots in Nico’s big kiln.  Slightly to our embarrassment, this turned out to be the best firing the studio has ever seen.  This is going to make us think twice about being so generous again.

Yeah, I agree with you – terrible pots – I don’t know why we let him use the kiln.  To add insult to injury, he recently exhibited them at an exhibition in Cape Town and sold them all.  No matter how hard I think I can’t work out how I can take some credit for this.

My own humble efforts have begun again – some more african woman vessels being made, and some very large slipped terracotta jars -
